Crisis Management

  • (Excerpt from the Division's Crisis Plan)

Appomattox County Public Schools have developed an extensive crisis management plan which will be evaluated annually to improve  school readiness in the event of actual crisis.  The Crisis plan covers all aspects of Crisis management and includes drills and procedures that the faculty and staff  follow, depending on the specific Crisis.

The school division performs a security walkthrough every semester to allow local law enforcement agencies access to the schools to help enable a general knowledge of the schools layout and potential threat areas that will need to addressed.

Appomattox County Public Schools strive to offer the safest educational environment for all faculty and staff.  We encourage all residents of Appomattox to contact the school board office for any concerns relating to school safety.  The direct phone line for the School Board office is 434-352-8251 attention Phillip Amos, Supervisor of Technology & Security.

The schools' Crisis plans are confidential and provided to all school and division administrators which are available to faculty and staff for information purposes.
