Congratulations to the following students selected to represent the ACHS Chorus at the 22nd annual JMU Choralfest event. Seniors, Kaitlynn Hamlett and Morgan Flamm, and sophomore, Miller Phelps spent two days rehearsing with singers from James Madison University, Dominion High School, Mechanicsville High School, Lightridge High School, Spotswood High School, Rock Ridge High School, and John Champs High School. They presented a stunning concert performance on Saturday evening under the direction of Dr. Jace Saplan, Choral Professor at Arizona State University.
Miller Phelps also bravely performed for an audience of his peers in a Vocal Masterclass with a JMU Vocal Instructor, a challenge normally only accepted by upperclassmen. Booming applause and cheers filled the room at the conclusion of Miller's performance, and he responded so well to applying the instruction he received that his performance improved dramatically within mere minutes of the lesson.
Our Chorus members showed tremendous work ethic and commitment through the many hours of singing, and we are proud of their positive representation of our Raider community!
