Congratulations to the following ACHS Cross Country runners who competed in Altavista on Wednesday. Madison Martin won the girls 5K race in a time of 20:55, which is a PR (personal record) for the season so far. Marium Robindoph placed 2nd overall, also with a PR for the season of 21:26, and Julie Goodman also had a PR of 25:42. Clay Hamilton led the boys team placing 3rd overall in a time of 18:37, he was followed by Christain Goodman who also had a PR of 19:53, Ryan Gheen: 21:50, David Owen 24:13, DJ Perry: 26:29 and Matthew Thomas: 30:54. The team will compete again next week at the Metro Invitational in Danville.

Congratulations to the Cross-Country team athletes who competed at Nelson yesterday. Clay Hamilton placed 2nd overall in a time of 18:32 over the 5K course. He was followed by Ryan Gheen: 21:43, Christian Goodman: 22:30, David Owen: 24:27 and Matthew Thomas: 29:13. Madison Martin won the girls race in a time of 21:16, followed by Miriam Robindolph, Marissa Perry: 24:33, and Bella Perry: 28:35. The team will be competing again this Friday in the HOKA National Postal Competition.

The 2023 Homecoming Dance will be held September 30th, from 7:30-9:30PM on the ACHS Concourse. Tickets are $10 and will be on sale from September 11th until September 27th, during lunches. Guest forms for non-ACHS students can be picked up in the office.

Homecoming Spirit Week will be September 25th - September 29th. The Spirit Day themes are: · Monday - Adam Sandler Day · Tuesday - BBQ Dads and Soccer Moms · Wednesday - Barbie World Day · Thursday - Decades Day · Class Colors Friday (Freshmen wear Red, Sophomores - White, Juniors - Gray, Seniors - Navy) As a reminder, dress code still applies during Spirit Week!
