Appomattox County School Board Regular Monthly Business Meeting
The following information items were presented:
I. The School Board recognized the following students for their academic achievements:
AMS, Virginia Senate Page Program
Lucas Hunter
ACHS, Central Virginia Regional Science Fair
Ella Schmutz
Lainey Woody
Tripp Canada
Carsyn Roark
Riley Fulcher
Sydney Glover
II. Lucas Hunter, 8th grader at Appomattox Middle School, presented on his experience at the 2024 Virginia Senate Page Program.
III. ACHS Principal Mr. Luke Cunningham and students Clay Moore and Morgan Flamm presented on Raider Ready Day 2024.
IV. School Board members provided feedback from their tours of Appomattox Elementary School and Appomattox Middle School, which took place prior to the meeting.
V. Dr. Tibbs shared an update from the Business, Finance, and Human Resources departments.
VI. The School Board scheduled the date of their self-evaluation for June 27, 2024
VII. Graduation 2024 will take place Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Liberty Vines Center. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m.
VIII. Mr. Jason Wells, Board Representative to the LAUREL Regional School Board, provided an update of the latest board meeting.
IX. The total funded Average Daily Membership for February 2024 was 2257. Total funded ADM for 2023-2024 was 2308.
X. The School Board approved the following items:

2024-2025 Out-of-County Tuition Rate - $1,000/student
2024-2025 Student Fees
2024 VSBA Business Honor Roll resolutions
First reading of revised policies
