The Lady Raiders Basketball team is holding their 1st annual team camp here on Saturday. There will be basketball games all day starting at 9am. The following teams are participating:
Amherst, Altavista, Chatham, EC Glass, Jefferson Forest, LCA, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Martinsville, and Rustburg. The cost is only $5 for any Appomattox County student. Come out and watch some really good basketball.
The Appomattox County High School Swim Team will be having its Pre-Season interest meeting
on Monday Oct 28th at 7pm at Falling River Country Club.
Any level swimmers are welcome and it is open to 6th - 12th graders.

Congratulations to The Medford Team! They played their first game of the season against Prince Edward and won with a score of 62 to 59.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes would like to invite everyone to “Fields of Faith.” This event will be at Bragg Stadium (the football field) 10/2 from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Come out and hear Pastor Frias and Youth Pastor David Detweiler. There will be games and worship as well.
September 15 through October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month.
FCCLA will have Fall Pumpkin Workshops on Tuesday, October 1 and Wednesday, October 2, from 3:30-4:30. We will be creating pumpkins to participate in a statewide competition.
Students who have previously taken culinary or Mrs. Curtis' classes in the past or are scheduled to take them next semester are eligible to be in FCCLA. Come join FCCLA and the fun with us!
Boy's Basketball: Open gym will be held on October 1st, from 3:30-5:00.
Congratulations to Elly Nash, who finished 21st out of 331 runners in the Knight’s Crossing Invitational High School 5K in Salem on Saturday. Nash finished the race in 19 minutes. She was followed by Madison Martin in 21:07, Julie Goodman in 26:43 and Bella Perry in 31:21.
The men’s team was led by juniors Clay Hamilton, finishing in 18:07, and Christian Goodman in 18:17. They were followed by Lucas Hunter in 18:40, David Owen in 24:14 and Matthew Thomas in 24:36.
Both teams race again this Wednesday in Chatham.
The 2024 Homecoming Dance will be held September 28th, from 7:30-9:30PM on the ACHS Concourse. Tickets are $15 and will be on sale from September 9th until September 25th, during lunches. Guest forms for non-ACHS students can be picked up in the office.
Homecoming Spirit Week will be September 23rd - September 27th. The Spirit Day themes are:
· Monday - Neon Day
· Tuesday - Anything But a Backpack Day (check Google Classroom for limitations)
· Wednesday - "Who am I??" Day
· Thursday - Throwback Thursday
· Class Colors Friday (Freshmen wear Red, Sophomores - White, Juniors - Gray, Seniors - Navy)

Attention Seniors - the class of 2025 senior t-shirt will go on sale starting Monday, September 9th through Friday, September 13th. You can buy a shirt from a senior class committee member before/after school and during lunches. The cost is $20.

Girl's Basketball will have open gym from 6:15-8:15 on Wednesday and Thursday.
This Saturday, the basketball teams will host a basketball camp from 9-12. This is a free camp for all students.
Buckingham Knights defeated the Appomattox Raiders 35-13 in football 8/30.
If you are interested in joining the Scholastic Bowl team, please plan to stay for an interest meeting and introduction practice on Wednesday, September 4th in Room 111 at 3:30. Girl's basketball conditioning will be Wednesday and Thursday of next week from 6:15-8:15. You must have a sports physical to participate
D&D Club's first after school session is Wednesday, Sept. 4th from 3:30 to 4:30 after school.
Horse team will have practice on Tuesday.
