Important Arrival and Dismissal Safety Update
To help ensure the safety of our students, families, and staff, Appomattox Primary School will no longer be able to accommodate “walkers” during morning arrival or afternoon dismissal.
Parents and guardians may not park in either school parking lot and walk their child onto campus in the morning or walk onto campus to pick up their child in the afternoon. This includes walking across either the bus-loading area or the car-rider traffic lane. The amount of bus and vehicle traffic during arrival and dismissal makes this a significant safety concern.
Students who do not ride the bus must be dropped off and picked up through our traditional car-rider line. Please remain in your vehicle and follow the established car-rider procedures so that staff can safely assist students.
We understand that this may require a change in some families’ routines, and we appreciate your cooperation as we work to maintain a safe arrival and dismissal process for everyone.
