If you have brand new Kindergartner for the 2025-2026 school year, don't forget to schedule your school physical and immunizations as soon as possible! These appointments often fill up quick and students cannot start the school year without these documents on file with the school.

Start the week with a good book! Super Pancake and the Mini Muffin Mayhem by Megan Wagner Lloyd, illustrated by Abhi Alwar Graphic novel lovers will want to read Peggy Pancake’s latest superhero adventure with her sidekick, Luc Croissant, as they battle Dr. Evil Breakfast Sandwich and his sinister Henchtoasts. Head out into the community this summer and visit the Spot and Trot book buses! They will run from June 2nd through July 10th. The buses will not run on 6/17, 6/18, 6/23 or 7/4. The buses visit several churches, neighborhoods and community locations every week! Schedules for both buses are attached.

APS Summer School starts on Monday, June 2nd and will run through Wednesday, June 18th. Student hours are 8:15 am - 11:45 am. If your student was registered and confirmed for Summer School, we look forward to seeing them on Monday!

Did your student bring home an APS Summer Reading Log? Here's a copy if you need one! Color in the day once you've read for 15 minutes. Bring the completed log back next school year to win a prize pack!

Head to the Jamerson Library on Monday, June 2nd to get registered for the Summer Reading Program! This program is open to anyone 2 years of age and older and runs for 8 weeks. Stop by the library for all the details!

Monday, 10/14 - No School (Teacher Work Day)

Our APS PTO is excited to host a Foam Party to celebrate School Attendance Awareness Month tomorrow, Friday, September 20, 2024. Please send a towel and a change of clothes with your child. School attendance is crucial for the academic success of students. The Virginia Department of Education uses attendance as one factor in determining each school's accreditation. It is important that your child's absences consist of 10 days or less through-out the school year. Why is it important? Your child will benefit from: 1. Academic Achievement 2. Social Development 3. Establishing Good Habits 4. Increased Engagement 5. Access to Resources Let's work together to ensure your child is at school, getting the most out of their educational opportunity by missing less than 10 days this school year!

We are pleased to let you know that all ACPS will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for school year 2024-2025. CEP allows eligible schools participating in the USDA National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program to provide meals at no cost to all students without meal applications. This means all students will received a free nutritious breakfast and lunch at no charge. You do not need to take any action for your student to receive their free daily meals.
