Student and Staff recognitions at the Regular Monthly School Board Meeting included AR point achievements, FFA honors, and athletics accomplishments.
Congratulations to the ACHS Cross Country runners who competed in the Regional Meet in Salem on Wednesday. The boy’s team was led by Clay Hamilton who completed the 5K course in a time of 17:53. He was followed by Christian Goodman: 18:45, Ryan Gheen: 20:03, DJ Perry and David Owen both with a time of 22:34, which is a PR for both runners and Matthew Thomas with a PR of 25:17.
The girl’s team was led by Madison Martin who placed 4th overall in a time of 19:47, which is a PR for her. Mariam Robindolph placed 9th overall in a PR of 20:29, she was followed by Marissa Perry: 24:02 PR, Julie Goodman: 24:23 and Bella Perry: 26:52.
Madison and Meriam earned All District Honors by placing in the top 10 finishers in the girls race.
Clay, Madison, and Meriam will compete in the State Cross Country Meet on Nov. 11th in Salem.

November 1st - 4:00 - Tryouts
Where: ACHS Cafeteria
On November 1st - Please wear navy shorts, white shirt, cheer bow, and athletic shoes
Must have an up to date physical to try out.
Open Gym for AMS boys Basketball will be Wednesday from 5:30-7:00.
AMS Girls Open Gym for Basketball will be Thursday from 3:45 - 5:00.
All Cross Country runners please turn in your uniform and end of the season banquet forms by this Wednesday.
The Interim School Board Meeting scheduled for tonight, Thursday, October 12, has been cancelled.
The next School Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 26 at 5:00 p.m. in the School Administration Building.
Monday and Tuesday (October 9-10) are student holidays. Monday is Columbus Day Holiday for all students and staff. Tuesday is a teacher work day and, at some schools, parent/teacher conferences. Teachers at those schools will be in touch to offer conference times if needed. School resumes for students on Wednesday, October 11.
The ACHS football game tonight (vs. Lord Botetourt at ACHS) has been cancelled. All activities scheduled to take place this weekend at the high school have been cancelled.
The interim School Board Meeting scheduled for September 14, 2023 has been cancelled.
The School Board will meet next on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 11:30- 2:45 for a tour of ACHS and APS. They will re-convene for the regular business meeting at the School Board Office at 3:30.
All Schools are being dismissed 2 hours early today, September 1, 2023.
ACPS has canceled all after-school activities today, August 7, due to a possible storm in our area.

ACPS new teachers take time in orientation to create art for their classrooms.

And also search the app store for PowerSchool Mobile and download/install that one too. Our district code is TQHS and you will need to use your PowerSchool credentials to login. Once the school year starts, this is a live view into your child(ren)'s classroom for attendance, assignments, and grades.
