To those who are interested in trying out for AMS Baseball this spring, winter workouts will begin this Sunday from 5 pm - 7 pm at Sluggers. Each student is required to bring $5.
Our JV Lady Raiders won over Rustburg on the road last night with a score of 36-24. Way to go girls!
After a hard fought back and forth game, the AMS Lady Raiders fell short to LCA 35-27 last night. Great effort girls. It's only going to get better from here. Up next, the Raiders will take a quick trip to Buckingham today to take on the Knights. Let's get it girls!
We'd like to give a shout out to the AMS Cheerleaders on their amazing performances during both the girls and boys game last night!
After battling a slow start, the Appomattox Lady Raiders responded in the 2nd half to defeat the William Campbell Generals 27-21. The Lady Raiders defended home court and earned their first win of the season to improve to 1-1 overall! Great job ladies! After a day of practice, the Raiders will host the LCA Bulldogs on Wednesday.
It's time to stuff the stockings! We are collecting items to stuff stockings for local nursing home residents! We are collecting until Monday, December 16th.

We have been investigating the test notification activity some of you may have received early this morning through your PowerSchool app. PowerSchool support has confirmed it was an accidental test from them. They were conducting tests for a new product, and unfortunately, this inadvertently triggered a test notification to all devices with the PowerSchool app installed.
Thank you for communicating it with us. No action is necessary from parents.
We do apologize though for the inconvenience of early morning test communications from the app.
The Appomattox County School Board tours of ACHS and APS scheduled for Thursday, September 26 have been canceled. The Regular Monthly Business Meeting taking place Thursday, September 26 has been rescheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Due to the impending storm, and the potential of flash flooding later in the day, ACPS is adjusting the time of our Open House tomorrow. All schools will be open to receive parents and students from 9 am to 3 pm on Thursday, August 8th.
If you are unable to attend, additional staff will be on-hand the first day of school to assist students with their schedules. Kindergarten orientations will be held as scheduled.

Reminder! ACPS is hosting a Job Fair tomorrow, Saturday, February 24, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Appomattox County High School (cafeteria).
Appomattox County Public Schools will be operating on a two-
hour delay today, Friday, January 19th. We will continue to evaluate the weather and road conditions. If changes are needed to the school day schedule, another message will be sent out this morning.
